Scion's "Pure Price" purchase experience means no
haggle, no hassle. The price you pay for all products and services offered
equals the dealership's posted and advertised price. Price menus are clearly
posted in the dealership showroom for all products and services. Dealers are
free to set their own prices.

The 2011 Scion iQ will be the smallest car in Scion's line of compact cars
when it arrives in early 2011. Toyota
says it is the world's smallest 4-seat car. The back-seat passengers will be
sitting so close to the rear window that the iQ has an industry-first rear window
curtain airbag. The iQ will get decent gas mileage.
The iQ has doors that make up most of the car's side.

The iQ's engine is a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder that is rated at "over 90
horsepower." The sole transmission is a continuously variable automatic
transmission which is supposed to increase the mpg into the high 30s in
combined city/highway driving.
The iQ is available as a two-seater, a three-seater or a four-seater, depending on
your perspective. While the iQ has a backseat, there is little room behind the driver.
It is big enough for a
child, a pet or groceries. The
front passenger seat sits farther forward than the driver's seat, which makes the rear seat
on that side a little more usable. The front passenger must slide forward and share
legroom with the rear passenger, but an
adult can sit in the back. With its large doors, slim backrests and front seats that slide far
forward, getting into the iQ's backseat isn't too difficult.
With the backseat in the upright position, there is barely any cargo space at all.
But both
rear seats can fold flat, independently for cargo versatility.

Though small, the iQ doesn't look cheap. The cabin materials are high
quality, and the interior design looks new and fresh, with wave shapes on the
dashboard and armrests. The iQ comes with a 6-speaker stereo,
steering-wheel-mounted controls, and USB and analog jacks for MP3 players.
Multiple stereo options will be available.
The iQ comes equipped
with 10 airbags, starting with two frontal-impact airbags and two seat-mounted
side-impact bags in front and curtains on both sides. Both front occupants also
get knee airbags. The two remaining include the first-ever rear-window curtain
airbag and one incorporated into the driver's seat cushion that's intended to
position the occupant optimally for impact.
Antilock brakes and an electronic stability system with traction control are
standard equipment.
The 2011 tC marks the first redesign
of Scion's sporty 5-seat coupe since its 2004 introduction. Though it resembles
the first generation enough to fool the casual observer, Scion says it's a new
platform and a full redesign. The larger engine adds power, and new
transmissions contribute to a slight mileage improvement.

The redesigned tC's front end looks more mature. The
headlights recall the Kia Forte, but a
large lower grille helps distinguish the tC. Blacked-out A-pillars change the side view dramatically. Though the tC is
still a 2-door hatchback, the shape of the rear side windows accentuates the drop-off in the roofline, hinting at a sedan profile. This comes at a time when
automakers seem desperate to make their 4-door cars look like coupes.
The alloy wheels are 18 inches, up
one inch from 2010, and are fitted
with wider tires. The brake discs are also enlarged to 16 inches.
Scion says the cabin has been lengthened, but there are no
dimensions available now. A front moonroof and a glass skylight
over the backseat are standard. Between these and the fastback roofline, the
cabin gets plenty of light, but the rear window needs a wiper.

A new steering wheel is slightly flattened at the bottom, a nice racing cue that gives more leg clearance. Buttons on the
spokes control a new stereo with eight speakers, a single-CD player and a USB
jack for MP3 player control.
A new 2.5-liter
engine produces 180 hp. The 6-speed manual and
automatic transmissions are both new. The overdue transmission upgrade also adds a manual-shift
mode. The
tC is front-wheel drive.
The tC provides eight airbags, starting with a frontal pair
and curtains that cover the door windows on both sides. The front occupants also
get knee airbags and seat-mounted side-impact torso bags. Antilock brakes and an
electronic stability system with traction control are also standard, as are
active head restraints for the front seats.

The Scion xD is an entry-level car,
but it offers a variety of options and gets a newly
standard electronic stability system for 2010.
For 2010, the xD gets updated optional and
standard audio features, plus that standard electronic stability
system.
The xD takes cues, like a boxy grille and
vertical bumper portals, from the Scion xB. The headlights look
similar to those on Toyota's RAV4.

- Standard 16-inch wheels with three available wheel-cover designs
- Chrome exhaust tip
- Rear-window wiper

60/40-split folding backseat that can recline 10 degrees and
adjust 6 inches forward and back. A storage well sits below the
cargo floor. Other places to stash things include a
dual-compartment glove box and a tray below the steering wheel.
On the dashboard, a single gauge integrates the tachometer and
speedometer. The xD's standard Pioneer stereo includes an MP3
jack and a USB port. The USB port displays your MP3 player's
track listings, and you can adjust the volume or skip ahead
using steering-wheel controls.
- Standard USB port also charges mobile device

- Standard air conditioning
- Standard power windows, locks and mirrors
- Standard first-aid kit
- Optional stereo upgrade includes a touch-screen faceplate

electronic stability system is standard for 2010.

the front seats and side curtain airbags for both rows
