No-Drill Car Spoiler Instructions
Our
No-Drill line of auto spoilers is user-friendly and very simple. The
car spoiler simply
attaches to the decklid with 3M Automotive Grade Adhesive tape. No
drilling is required!
Most applications only take 5-10 minutes to install. Positioning is
the hardest part. Just make sure it is positioned correctly
BEFORE you press it down.
No-Drill does NOT mean that it is removable. It is made to be a
permanent fixture on your car and is NOT easy to remove.
KIT INCLUDES:
Rear spoiler
3M Tape
Instructions
TOOLS REQUIRED:
Isopropyl Alcohol
Masking Tape or Grease Pen
Measuring Tape
PAINT INSTRUCTIONS (for unpainted
spoilers only):
Inspect spoiler for imperfections. If filling is
required, use a catalyzed body filler.
If a catalyzed body-filler is used, be sure to prime over
the spot.
Sand the spoiler with 400 grit, or finer, wet sand paper
until smooth.
Apply basecoat / clearcoat finish of your choice.
NOTE: This spoiler has been coated with a catalyzed
primer/sealer. Unless additional filling has been done, no primer is
required.
Helpful Tips: Adhesive silicones
and/or adhesion promoters are often used in conjunction with the
provided 3M tape for long-lasting durability. For best
results, installation should be conducted in temperatures above 72°
F. Refer to tape manufacturer's recommendations for full
details. Do NOT clean, wax, or drive for
12 hours after installation.
CarData is not responsible for no-drill attachment durability.
PLEASE, read the instructions
thoroughly BEFORE any installation or pre-work begins!
Clean
the surface that is to be covered by the spoiler thoroughly with
Isopropyl Alcohol.
Before
removing the tape backing, test fit the spoiler in order to get
comfortable with the placement. You can mark the position with a
grease pen or masking tape to ensure a perfect fit.
Peel
back the corner of the backing on the 3M tape and remove all pieces.
Avoid touching the exposed tape.
Position
the spoiler and gently press the spoiler into place on the decklid,
hatch or rear glass. Once satisfied with the placement, firmly
press down on the spoiler to ensure cohesion along the entire vehicle
surface. Continue to apply pressure or use masking tape to keep
unit from lifting. Do not drive for 12 hours!
